Completely valid!

{% if rawResponses['Why not']['response']['select_all_that_applies_and_rank'].length > 1 %}

Here are a few things to consider:

{% endif %}{% for response in rawResponses['Why not']['response']['select_all_that_applies_and_rank'] %} {% if response == 'selection_havent_seen_any_makes_and_or_models_that_i_like' %}

Selection – The EV landscape is rapidly changing, with new electric vehicle models of various style, size and price point being announced every year.

{% endif %} {% if response == 'price___not_in_my_budget' %}

Price – The purchase price of most new EVs is comparable to similarly sized gas-powered vehicles, and federal rebates of up to $5000 are available on many EV models. The cost of running an EV (fuel, maintenance, repairs) has actually been found to be less expensive than for a comparable gas vehicle, so you will save money over the lifetime of the vehicle.

{% endif %} {% if response == 'performance__concerned_an_ev_doesnt_have_the_power_or_range_i_need' %}

Performance – Most EVs can travel more than 200km on a single charge (some as much as 600km) – that’s much farther than 65km average most Canadians drive in a day, so “range-anxiety” is not warranted for most drivers

{% endif %} {% if response == 'performance_concerned_an_ev_doesnt_have_the_power_or_range_i_need' %}

{% endif %} {% if response == 'convenience_charging_seems_like_a_pain' %}

Convenience – Charging an EV can be done in the convenience of home, and there are more and more public chargers being installed on streets, service stations, malls, community centres and highways every day.

{% endif %} {% if response == 'skeptical_evs_arent_green' %}

Environmental claims – EVs are an important part of our transition away from older, more polluting transportation options. They don’t release any tailpipe emissions, making the air we breathe cleaner and healthier . The main environmental impact of Evs come from their manufacturing, the battery in particular.

{% endif %} {% if response == 'id_rather_to_stick_with_what_i_know_a_gas_car_is_good_enough_for_me' %} {% endif %} {% if response == 'i_dont_drive' %} {% endif %} {% if response == 'other' %} {% endif %}{% endfor %}

You may not want to make the switch yourself (at least not yet), but EVs are becoming more and more popular, so it’s a good idea to understand a bit about them!

That's great!

Did you know that Durham Region Transit has committed to transitioning to a fully electric bus fleet by 2037?

So if you rely on public transit to get around, you are making a great choice!

Oshawa has already invested $12.1 million dollars to purchase and develop infrastructure for 6 E-buses.

Even if you yourself don’t drive, chances are you know someone who already has an EV, or will soon.  So not a bad idea to know more about them!

Not sure if EV’s are the right fit for you and your family?

Is an electric vehicle right for me?

How often do you road trip?
